
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez , on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actress and producer. In Mexico she started her career with the role of Teresa in the telenovela (1989-1991) as well as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she received an Ariel Award. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only some of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's character as Frida Kahlo as a painter in Frida (2002) the biographical film she wrote and produced which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[66. In addition, she received her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek appeared in the action-packed Once Upon a Time in Mexico films in the following years and concentrated more on producing.
