He is the oldest son of Francesco "Frank" Stallone Jr. and is the Italian hairdresser as well being Jackie Stallone Sr., an astrologer/dancer. He has an older brother named Frank Stallone, who is a musician and actor. Due to complications in the birth of Sylvester, his lower left side was crippled. This gave him his now-famous "snarling" speech, slurred voice and distinctive look. Stallone was a part of his early years in foster care as a result of the volatile relationship between parents and children. The couple later divorced. Stallone was a drama student in Switzerland at the American College before moving on to Miami University. Stallone left school to explore acting in New York City.
