Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - is a Canadian and American singer/songwriter. Her albums span over 20 years. Her music is categorized as folk, alternative and rock but she also draws influences from jazz and hip-hop. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, and was among the first artists to create her own label 1990. DiFranco's parents, Elizabeth (Ross), a ex-student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were students at the same school. Her father had Italian heritage and her mother was Montreal-born. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. This song appeared on her album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995.
